Add unit tests

Add unit tests to catch errors like #8 (closed). See Part 8: Testing, Debugging & Pro􏰀iling.

During the refactoring, I will make the code more testable. After that, unit tests will be easier to write.

CSC 2.0.0 includes unit tests for command-line and Python interfaces. The rest of the tests will be added in the following releases.
